Description

Draw a Pony Traveling/Draw an exotic pony.

Bleh, I totally eyeballed and free-handed this, no perspective or ruling. It shows. There are plenty of mistakes, things facing the wrong way, lines too wavery, etc.
Don't be lazy, kids! Use proper mechanical drawing techniques! Your backgrounds deserve better than this.

Sorry guys, I'm just not happy with it because I should have known better - actually I do know better. If I'd just taken some time to plot this out and rule things up it would have turned out much, much better and I could have focused more on getting the architecture right, adding details, and all that other stuff. Instead I started stressing about how sloppy it was turning out. If I was just starting out it'd be okay as a learning experience or something to work on later, but for me there's just not much excuse.

I think that in a picture like this, scenery is at least as important as (if not more than) the pony you put into it. Doing a messy, passable set of buildings or vague skylines might be alright in a character shot or a scene from animation, but for something where the environment is the focus you need to have something worthwhile to focus on.
